Mark Rothko’s ideas about teaching art to children.   He emphasises the importance of experimentation rather than conformity, and talks about how making art impacts positively on children’s thinking skills.

“These children have ideas, often fine ones, and they express them vividly and beautifully, so that they make us feel what they feel,” he writes. “Hence their efforts are intrinsically works of art.”
